what is the difference between a lip piercing and side labret piercing?
I always thought "lip" piercings go THROUGH the lip but other people have claimed that their "side labret" piercing is a lip piercing. I understand that it's around the general area but what's what?
I dont think people usually pierce through the actual lip. It is usually the area surrounding it; but i suppose its possible. A labret is a type of lip piercing. There are MANY types of lip piercings, however they dont go through the actual "lip"

EDIT: Okay I have found some pictures and such of piercings through the lip itself, but the website also states that
"Lip piercing is a type of body piercing which penetrate the lips, or the area surrounding the lips. Lip piercings can be placed anywhere around the mouth, but the surface of the lip is not typically pierced itself... "
